Albacore 6930 has been stolen from Largs Sailing Club - last seen on the morning of Saturday 25th July.

It is a red painted Woof, with 'Aquachip' and 'Maidenhead Sailing Club' written on the transom and was in a blue under and over cover on the road trailer (which has one red wheel and one silver wheel) with mast etc.

If anyone can provide any help or information or suggestions as to where to post messages it would be gratefully received, either to this forum or on 07971545573,

Many thanks,

Victoria

That is really sad news, after such a great event! We all need to keep our eyes open on ebay for parts, masts, boom sails etc. (or even the boat)

I believe Liz had her mast stolen from Hamish McJador as well, so if anyone hears anything......

Victoria

Make sure it gets posted on www.stolenboats.org.uk (via police or insurance co).

Also post on all the sailing forums, If an Albacore comes up for sale it should be spotted by someone on the forums:

www.yachtsandyachting.com/forum

forums.sailinganarchy.com/

I cant believe there is a market for stolen Albacores, lets hope it Aquachip turns up soon in one piece.

Trevor - perhaps you could put something on the front page of the site, perhaps if someone is offered an Albacore or parts they may look up the class site.

Good plan John. It would probably be a good idea to notify the RYA in case anyone applies for a replacement certificate too.

Hi Victoria

I assume that you asked SSI and Largs sailing club to check the CCTV. I will call David Kent tommorrow.

Cheers Derek

2 Main sails from 8008 were also stolen, so if you get offered them or hear of them, please shout.

This is all very sad news, if it helps I left Largs a 7:30am on the Saturday with my boat (same time as Nev & Mark). My boat had 2 sets of sails in it (inc very new macs) with no top cover on all night, so I suspect it would have been after that time when it was removed.

Fingers crossed.

Hi all,

This whole thing seems to suggest that it was not only an opertune thieft but by someone not involved with sailing at all, surely anyone with any knowlage would realise the risk of these items being identified,

hopefully this will aid the recovery.

I have circulated a notice throughout my Scottish contacts, so, fingers crossed!
