I intend to go to Weymouth and I hope I will be able to persuade a couple of others from Lyme to come. As to numbers sailing at Lyme, the lack of gentle breezes has cut numbers this summer & autumn - however next year we shall make sure that all the club boats are raced at the champs- filled with club juniors etc as at the last Internationals.

We did however have the biggest fleet out (3 boats!)the last time racing was possible (15Th Nov) and the only boats to actually complete the course in a force 4-5 with nice big waves - was I glad I wasn't sailing a Laser!

Any way we can have some way of adding boats to a list of entries for up & coming events?

This surely will heighten the excitment!!!!

another one for the events calender would be the Scottish championships on 12/13 June, 2010 @RWSABC in Greenock on the Clyde.

sure crawford will confirm as this is the date we`ve had agreed.....there will also be a Finn traveller taking place on the same dates.

hopefully a number of new entrants will decide to make the journey north, and participate in what is a friendly and occassionally challeging event...we certainly hope Judy and Paul will be returning to defend their trophy!

and we expect a large contingent from Shetland

We could always hold the Inlands at West Riding at the End of May, that's pretty central?

I will ask Lyme if we could piggy-back onto another class open-meeting in the early summer. Their programme is not yet agreed so its bound to be Sod's law that any date will clash with another of our opens - but I will ask

By having the inlands at South Cerney and the Nationals at Lyme, we are effectively losing two open meetings.

What is the viability of having the Inlands somewhere else, so that we get a South Cerney open Meeting and a separate Inlands at a venue where we dont normaly have an Open. For example we have Alb Sailors at Northampton, Notts County or Scalling Dam, could they host the Inlands to give us an extra meeting.

West Riding Sailing Club have invited us to hold an open meeting on the last bank holiday weekend in May, this will be for the Runslip Cup. I have arranged it so far to take the form of Saturday Afternoon and Sunday, if any one has any other preferences, let me know. There will also be sailing there on the Monday if any body wants it. It is a very hospitable club and a good stretch of water by all accounts.

I am just putting together the list for 2010 so please send me your dates as you decide but please do it early so we can go back and ask for reconsideration of any conflicts. It is a shame if there are conflicting dates with so few events in the calendar. It'll take a few days to rearrange the pages, Trevor

Saturday 10th April 2010 - Albacore Training at Maidenhead.

Lead by National Champion - The Silver Fox (yes Will, you did agree to do it!).

Sunday 11th April 2010 - Maidenhead Open.

The first open of the season.

Once again we will have a with Silver fleet prize for older boats (eg Fairey hull shape) and newcomers to the class, so all are welcome.

(nb this is the week after the Easter weekend).
