How many Albs were built in 2010 and 2011? Seeing the sail numbers from the nationals, with 8155 etc it seems like lots of new boats are being built in UK and Canada.

The good old Alb may be one of the healthiest classes around!!

Worthy of some promotion I think

Steve (ex Covenham SC)

Ovington built 11 boats in 2010 calendar year and have 11 to build for Canada - I guess they may also have built a few for the UK market this year.
Chris Turner can perhaps reply when he gets back from Helsinki

Since boat number one here we are now up to 32.
We do not deal with sail numbers, just our boat Hin numbers.

Here are five of the seven HAPCO Albacores constructed to date along with their owners and crew, all paitently waiting for wind at US Nationals. We presently have five to complete before mid winters. One can never have too many Albacores.

Hi All,

We are soon to start another batch run of Albacore's.

Currently there are six boats on order and we have scope to extend this run.

This will likely be the only production run in 2012 due to other event comitments.

Don't be disapointed and get your order in NOW!

Cheers,

Chris.

Now up to twelve new boats on order, including one for Wooden decks.

Be quick to add your name to the list.

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi

We are still taking orders for new boats, currently we have 5 on order from Ovington's. One will be a wooden fit out inside a Ovington shell ie. wooden centreboard case, tanks and decks.

It will be interesting to hear what the final numbers ordered from Chris Turner at Ovington for this Spring will be. Lots of numbers were being bandied around at the Dinghy Show - there may have been some double counting, but our number built may well put some of the "trendy" classes in the shade.

The current number is 12 I believe, 7 for the Canadian (our) order and 5 for the UK.

I think there are several more - talking to Chris on Sunday night but it depends how many come up with the deposit! There are rumours that one firm in the sailing industry is buying one as a works boat & 2 chaps who came on the stand at the show were thinking of placing an order we shall see when the dust settles
