I have sold my old boat and bought a newer one, however I kept my original sails which were almost new. Do I need to get these sails remeasured and recorded on my new certificate. I thought it would be helpful to put this on the forum to advise others who may be in a similar situation.

I have consulted the class chairman Michael McNamara who says that you will have to get the sails remeasured to go onto the new(er) boat's certificate unfortunately

Guys, this is a new one on me.
If the sails have already been measured and signed, why do they need to be done again, surely they only have to be recorded on the swopped boats certificate, assuming there has not already been sails allocated to it within its allowance?

I guess Michael has given us the legal position - in practice the usual check at Championships etc is that the sails have actually been measured & signed
