Hi

I recently noticed that a member of our local club was using an app on his iPhone to calculate the race results and so I tried to find one on Android that I could use. There wasn't one(!) so I decided to produce one myself.

I've now finished it and it is available for free on the Google Play Store for anyone with an Android phone. Please search under 'sailing race calc' to find it. I would love to hear your thoughts on the app and any way that I can improve it. I am already looking at including a database of PY numbers, and hope to have that update ready soon.

I was playing with the new app and reworking some of our results which went as follows;

PY - 1055

Elapsed time - 58mins 01sec

Corrected time - 54mins 60secs (3299.53secs)

I guess it has just rounded up to 60 rather than the next minute.

- Thanks for spotting that. I have done hundreds of calculations in testing it and not found that error. I'll work on a fix for the next release.

Just to let you know that the update has now gone live with the complete list of RYA PY Numbers so that you can simply select your boat and then the PY is automatically entered into the calculation.

Also fixed the rounding error that Dave found - thanks again for spotting that.
