The Southerns area Open is being held on the weekend of 28-29 June at Paignton Sailing Club. This will be on the same waters of Torbay as the Nationals in 2012. The event will be part of the PODD Regatta which is Paignton's annual double-handed event. Please follow the link www.paigntonsailingclub.com for the NOR and more details. A discounted entry fee of £30 is available to all who enter by 21st June, thereafter it is £35. There is a simple on line entry system from the club web site which even I managed! There are host families offering accommodation, good camping facilities close by and plenty of B&Bs. This will be an excellent warm up event to this year's Nationals so put it in your diary and enter now.

Thanks Hazel it really needs people to make the commitment and pre-enter. I am hoping a good number will make the effort as it should be an excellent tune up event for the Nationals. A few mentioned last year that they wanted a sea event pre Nationals so I hope they come!

Yes please once registered you will qualify for the reduced rate but do not need to pay till you arrive. Look forward to seeing you there.

Come on let's get those entries in Nev, Matt, Hazel, Dave etc. We need to make this year's entry a good number and have a really competitive Southerns. Entries are not restricted to 'south of Watford Gap' so hopefully we can tempt a few more boats to share in the English Riviera sunshine and Torbay hospitality! On line entry and pay on the day - what could be easier?

We still need more entries for the Southerns! So far six have entered on line but it would be good to have more. This is the last Alb sea event before the Nationals so where are all those who said last year you wanted a sea taster before the Nationals? Paignton would like to know how many to cater for.
