Has anyone recently been able to update the registry of Albacores at registry.albacore.org? I have never been able to add my dinghy, and there is a thread on the USAA Forum called "Boat Registry Mystification" which dates from September 2011. Several members have described similar problems. The latest comment is from 29 April 2014. The link to the thread is here:

I've reported the problem on the related "issues database", where it is flagged as critical. I also emailed one of the North American webmasters a while ago.

Any thoughts on this or knowledge of the current status? It seems a pity to lose an important audit trail of boat ownership. Or is it a problem limited to a few people?

I will drop Warner a line to see what the status is.
If nothing is going to be fixed then I will look at setting up a Uk registry.

I think a UK based Registry would be an excellent project John. It may sound insular but I would suspect we are mostly interested in UK and European based boats and having a register that is up-dateable particularly where boats change hands would be really good. If costs are involved I suspect that the Association might be prepared to cover them?

A Beta version of a new registry is now available for people to try out.
Currently it is linked from the Association menu tabe above, or directly here:

Let me know how you get on with it.

Post any issues on the new thread, or email to me.

Also let me know if there are any information fields that need to be added.

You will need to be logged on (via the Forum) to register your boat.
