this looks like a standard rudder as fitted to Fairey Albacores in the 1960s - but is the bronze leading edge strip an original feature or is that a modification? also, the stock is bolted through, whereas the original 1960 rudder that came with my boat was riveted. I've not had it in the water yet, so don't know whether the blade will float or drop down of its own accord!

Rudders need to be locked down , suspect it probably has had a down haul fitted in the past.

thanks - yes it has a wire downhaul as per original. is the bronze leading edge original though and does it conform?
