Further to my previous post. Buried in the grass. I am seeking some ideas as to the settings for the spreaders. Having started to sort out my newly acquired Albacore. Checking the measurement for the black bands ect. I then looked at the spreaders. Both of the tuning guides I found on the web. Gave the length of each spreader as 410 to 420 with a deflection of 140mm. Not I have just measured mine. On the Boyce mast and they are 490 from the side of the mast to the shroud. And a deflection of 180mm.
I would appreciate comments..
Altering the deflection is easy but to cut 70mm off of each is permanent.
Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard
I am not familiar with the Boyce mast so hard to comment but to start with I would suggest sticking with the spreader length and reducing the deflection to 140mm.

Thanks for the information. As soon as the weather improves I will put the mast up and have a look at the deflection of the shroud outward as well as forward.
The mast seems to be a fairly stiff section. Probably similar to a Cumulus or Epsilon being 73x57mm in section.
So I guess that the current setup for current mast sections will not be to far out.
Thanks
