At the Show I was approached by 2 people looking for good ie fully race-able secondhand plastic boats. No doubt the others on the stand also had enquiries. I advised them to look at this website and one person said he had been following the site for 6 months and none had come up.
If you know of any suitable boats whose owners are thinking of selling please get them to post an advert on here as we are losing potential Albacore sailors through want of boats!

It is also worth posting a Wanted advert on this site.
Often good boats are sold by word of mouth, letting people know you are looking for a boat could perhaps persuade a hesitant seller to part with their boat and give you a call.

This goes generally for s/h boats plastic or wood, to all members have a look round the boatpark and any unused boats try to persuade people to sell them before they deteriorate, i know of 3 people looking for good s/h Albs, i am always looking for boats to re furbish, with the new boats being delivered there must be some s/h ones coming on to the market. We do need a supply of s/h boats to keep the class alive and bring people in to it without spending a fortune, I will have 7180 up for sale soon after a re build of the hog and a strip and re varnish, looking for the next one, I thought both boats at Ally Pally were excellent but probably out of most peoples budgets.

Just to add to this as on my short time in the stand on Saturday a guy said a similar thing. He occasionally looks at the site and as others have said, there is a lack of good secondhand boats. This is the same with the Solo class where there has also been a shortage of good qaulity Winders ~ which are the favoured buy.
Is there a simpler way of having an in terested buyesr list rather than wanted adds?

This is a great idea and would help to keep the people interested in joining our class relatively engaged. I can speak form my experience and that of my Dad, it is really hard to find a boat despite all, and every effort.

There are 2 boats on eBay right now.
A7505 is one of my old boats, all wood Young, nice boat when I owned her at Covenham. Finishes today currently £820!!
Also A6428 GRP composite, looks really good, excellent condition, no mast or mainsail, currently £361 with 2.5 days to go.
